Which laser printer component protects a fuser from overheating?

Answer:  a thermal fuse.  Thermal fuses keep fusers from overheating.  A thermal fuse is designed to open when it is heated to a particular temp. Thermal fuses must be replaced when the fuse opens, or blows.  Fusers, which use heat and pressure to cause toner to melt or fuse to the printed media, are subjected to high temperatures during normal operation.
